MCBA Kids Camp at Smithville, AR this year was awesome. They had 117 campers not including the group from Timber Crest Baptist Church in Waco, TX. The kids had a blast and God worked in that whole camp all week long. In talking with people there, this year was really different in the fact that most kids saved weren’t saved at invitation time after the worship service….they were saved everywhere…worship, breakfast, snack shack, in their cabins. Just an awesome thing!!!
There were several rededications and 12 salvations at the camp. Praise God in a HUGE way for that!!! There were several seeds that were planted and God began to work on the hearts of several others.
I got the chance to go up to camp on Thursday and finish out camp with everyone and I was soooooo blessed!!! I think the worship service hit me most of all…to see kids with their hands raised praising our God with a passion. To see kids at the first music note at invitation time…just flood the altar (a lesson to be learned here)…huddled at the altar…praying for each other. So powerful.
Another cool thing…on Thursday night at camp, family night, at invitation time…Larry Smith came to Bro. Todd and said he wanted to join our church and be an example for his family. What a cool thing!!!
Great day at church yesterday!!!
I think we had 106 in Sunday school. Keep inviting!!! Our college class started a 3 or 4 week lesson on dealing with temptation. Very powerful and will be so useful throughout our lives!!!
Bro. Todd preached on Jesus calming the storm. Great sermon and much needed.
The best part of the day though was at the beginning of the service, Bro. Todd announced that Callie Brister had given her heart to Christ right after Sunday school. PRAISE GOD!!! All good things flow from Him!!!
Well, Bro. Todd, a few counselors ands several teens headed off to Ridgecrest, North Carolina at 4am this morning for FUGE!!! Our teens won’t just be camping there, they’ll be doing a lot of mission work. Please pray for God to use all there in an amazing way!!!
This coming Sunday is Flip Flop Sunday. We didn’t get a chance to promote it much so we need your help getting the word out. Bro. Todd and I will be “flipping” roles. He’ll be putting the song service together and I’ll be bringing the message. We’re encouraging everyone that wants to…to dress casually and wear your sandals or flip flops. Come join us in worshipping our awesome God!!!
