“Celebration Sunday Indeed!”

Well, Celebration Sunday was just that…a huge celebration. We honored our high school graduates – Morgan Smith, Bailee Tyler, Hanna Kirk, and Brandon McLaughlin. Loved the tables they had set up! …but the huge celebration was for the 7 that were baptized that morning! Man, that’s how you start a church service….so awesome to see God’s harvest!!! Those baptized were Abby Bell, Karsyn Graham, Elijah Adams, Carty Smith, Chloe Tate, Bailey Hudson, and Alison Long! Praying for all of these guys and our graduated seniors on their next steps in life…and that’s just what Bro. Todd preached on. He just wanted to share various verses of God’s Word that would guide them in their next steps in their journey for our great God!

We had planned on Backyard Church in Betty and Harold Worsham’s backyard last night but got a much needed rain instead….God always knows best! We had a good time at “backyard church” in the MAC last night.

This Wednesday night is the last G.P.S. till the Fall….so let the kids come on out @ 6pm.

We look forward to seeing you at church this weekend! God is good!….yes, all the time!

Beautiful are the Feet That Carry the Gospel

We always miss Bro. Todd when he’s away.  Keep praying for him while he brings God’s Word to the great people of Joiner in revival for the next few days.

God showed up and blessed big time yesterday!  Loved the song service Gary Gardner picked out and led.  Loved the surprise trio – Gary, Linda, and Eddie Gardner.  They blessed us singing “How Long Has It Been.”

God taught us so much through the simple, yet powerful act of washing the disciples’ feet.  He taught us about humility, service – to others, those who hate us, those who betray us, to each other, daily repentance, and love – love for Him, love for others, love for each other.

Then we got to do something that I know we’ve never done in my lifetime at our church…we had the opportunity to display those things by washing the feet of someone.  This time of invitation and decision turned out to be so powerful!  Whether you came up on stage or not matters not…what matters is taking those things into the week and demonstrating them in the world!

Keep loving on each other, keep praying for each other, keep praying for the lost, keep praying for the Reviver (Jesus Christ) to bring true revival!!!

REMINDER:
REVIVAL AT FBC KEISER – May 6-8
Bro. Don Piper (author of the book “90 Minutes in Heaven”) will be preaching the revival.  You will not want to miss this.  Make plans now to be with us.  Open your hearts up and let the Lord Jesus reign in us!  All praise to God!

Great Weekend at FBC Keiser

Well, FBC Keiser had its first ever women’s conference this past weekend.  “Reflecting His Glory” by Andrea Lennon.  It was awesome!!!  It was a Friday night/Saturday morning event….it blessed and challenged you!  Some of us guys were there to run equipment and that’s about all I was expecting…I wasn’t expecting God to speak to me through it and mercy did He!  Love that!

We had a powerful Sunday service.  We’ve been having a men’s prayer time at 9:30am in my office in the MAC each Sunday and I could’ve sworn that the floor raised a foot during our prayer time this past Sunday.  God’s presence was so evident!!!  My thought going into worship was “Danny, get out of the way and let God continue to move”….and He did!  Bro. Todd’s sermon “Why Keeps You From Jesus” was so powerful too!!!  You can listen online or download it at

Sunday recap

OK…I really have to find someone to start blogging for our church.  I keep lagging more and more on this.  Was great to see Sunday School numbers back in the triple digits Sunday.

Seemed to be a lot of loss this past week.  Our church lost a great member of the family in Ms. Viola Achens.  Charles Warren passed away and found out Saturday night that Drew Blankenship from Dell had passed.  Just tragic!

Riley Hipps sang special music and sang “Missing People.”  It was a very fitting song.  Then Bro. Todd preached on “What is Your Life?”  Great sermon out of James 4.

Join us this Wednesday at 6pm and next Sunday at 9:45am for Sunday school and 11am for worship.  Come be a part!

Fundraiser, Black Friday…and a Great Sunday!

First of all, I want to thank Jesus for taking care of our pastor, Bro. Todd Vinson this week. On Thanksgiving, Bro. Todd, was checked into the hospital in Jonesboro, AR with heart attack-like symptoms. Thank goodness it wasn’t a heart attack. All tests came back negative and the heart cath showed no blockage. We’re thanking God for that! They are leaning towards it being more of a blood pressure problem and medication side effects.

Being the trooper Todd is, he was released from the hospital near noon on Saturday…came straight home, got cleaned up and came to Rivercrest for His Guys’ sound check. Wow! His Guys was sure glad to have him! We had a great time opening for Nashville recording artist, Buddy Jewell, at the Stepping Stones Learning Center fundraiser. Over $2,000 was raised for our daycare.

Sunday was great…Bro. Todd preached on the first “black Friday.” The day that Jesus died for you…for me! We watched a video called “The Gospel” by Eric Ludy! Cool sermon…but the best part was the invitation. Steve and Holly Kirk came down with their youngest…Emma. Emma gave her heart to Jesus!!!! Praise God! Great way to kick off the holiday season!!!

Tithing and Life Change

Hey guys! Ed Young Jr. says quite often…”people get funny when you talk about money!” hahaha. Funny but true. Rarely does Bro. Todd preach on money…but Sunday’s sermon was powerful and very challenging and so true. Tithing is a faith and trust thing and one of two places in the Bible where God says “test me on this”….He said he’d open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so many blessings that you could hardly stand it. Wow!

Jace and Carty Smith quoted Bible verses before their mom, Amy, sang….phenomenal…so awesome to hear the Word of our God spouting out of the mouths of kids. …and Amy did an awesome job singing!

Best part of the day though…Colby Brister made his decision to trust Christ as Lord and Savior public!!! So proud of him!

Guest speaker…great challenge

Hey guys! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted on here. We had a guest speaker this past Sunday – David McClung from the Arkansas Baptist Convention. David did an awesome job! His sermon was titled “Hope in the Midst of Brokenness.” The break down was pretty much this…
If we go where Jesus goes, we’ll see what Jesus sees
If we see what Jesus sees, we’ll feel what Jesus feels
and if we feel what Jesus feels, we can’t help but do what Jesus does!
Thanks for the challenge!

Trunk-or-treat went great Monday night. We had about 250 kids come by. Thanks to all of the families that participated and all the families who came by!!!

Celebration Sunday, Back to Church Sunday and Discipleship Challenge

Hey everyone! Well, I’ll go with what Gary Gardner said Sunday morning concerning our Sunday school numbers. I would definitely take it on a Calculus test but not great for Sunday morning – 97. hahaha.

Amazing Day!!! We kicked it off right – 4 baptisms! Always cool to see members of the same family be baptized on the same day….we got to do just that Sunday with Billy Holt and his son, Noah. Also being baptized were Lee Ann Bell and Tracy Towery! So proud of these guys!

I had a great time singing “Long As I Got King Jesus” with Gary Gardner and Riley Hipps! That is stinkin’ high for a tenor…good thing I’m not a tenor…love you Gary! hahaha.

Bro. Todd preached an awesome sermon called “Remember These Things.” As we remembered what happened on September 11 ten years ago, he gave Christians things to remember whether you had just walked through the waters of baptism or whether you had been a Christian for 70 years. You’ll definitely want to listen when I get these sermons up!

This Sunday, September 18 is Back-to-Church Sunday! If you’re not in church for one reason or another or maybe it’s been a while, we invite you back..everyone is invited to Sunday school this Sunday at 9:45am. At 11am we’ll have a special concert by southern gospel quartet, Forgiven. These are some great guys and they are an awesome group. Don’t miss out!!!

Great start to Christian University Sunday night. Their is something for all ages. The adult ladies have a class and the adult men too. The adult men’s class started studying “Angels, Demons, and Spiritual Warfare.” Join us at 5pm on Sunday nights.

Don’t forget about the Discipleship Challenge starting this week and going for 8 weeks (hopefully not just 8 weeks but for the rest of your life). The challenge is to (1) pray like a missionary (2) attend a Bible study class each week for 8 straight weeks and that includes Sunday School, Christian University and Wednesday night Bible study (3) Sign-up to serve on a ministry team and (4) get involved in someone’s life! If you missed Sunday school and Christian University to meet the challenge, you need to make it to Wednesday night Bible Study at 6pm this Wednesday! You won’t regret it!

Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord…

No, not the song and ,no, not that Noah….9 year-old Noah at our church Sunday gave his heart to Jesus! So awesome!!!

We had 101 in SS. Some of us had a blast forming an impromptu quartet as we helped out Riley Hipps on “He Saw It All” for special music.

Bro. Todd preached an awesome yet challenging sermon. He asked “What Should the Church Look Like?” He asked if we would be a church that said “come and see” or if we’d be a church that would “go and be.” Meaning…for a long time, the main focus of the church was getting people inside the walls (and that will still be a focus for sure)…but most “lost” people are not coming through the church doors. We were challenged to not just come to church but to go out and be the church!!! To go to where the lost are and tell them about Jesus as we’re going.

There are so many ways to “go and be” and it’s not a cookie-cutter thing…be in prayer with us as we find the best way to reach people in and around Keiser, AR.
